Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Multiple sources reported that the activist Mohamed Adam “Toubak”, who is accused with others of killing Brigadier General Ali Braima, was detained at the headquarters of the Sudanese embassy in Libya.

After the outbreak of the conflict, Toubak expressed his escape in prison inmates due to the insecurity, his willingness to appear before the court immediately after the situation, as he was tried with other demonstrators on charges of assassinating the dean while securing protests organized near the Presidential Palace on January 13, 2021.

Sources told “Sudan Tribune” that “the members of the Sudanese embassy crew in Tripoli arrested Toubak without clarifying the reasons for the arrest.”

The Sudanese Observatory for Human Rights affirmed the arrest of Muhammad Adam “Toubak” by members of the embassy in Tripoli, considering this behavior a flagrant violation of international norms and an unacceptable transgression.

He stated that the arrest of Toubak is inconsistent with the tasks and work of embassies and consulates that must be committed to protecting citizens residing abroad and not threatening their freedom and safety.

He called for the necessity of the immediate release of Tupac, calling on the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees to intervene quickly to save the life of the detainee and ensure that he reaches a safe place.

The head of the Sudanese women in the Coordination Council of Communities in the capital, Tripoli, Samia Hassan Hamed, confirmed in a statement to “Sudan Tribune”, the arrest of Muhammad Adam Toubak.

She said that the activist was arrested at the request of the Sudanese government, as he was accused of intentional murder and under the trial, and fled from prison during the outbreak of the war.

In the context, the Vice -Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Darfur Lawyer, Al -Sadiq Ali Hassan, told “Sudan Tribune” that the pursuit of Toubak by the Sudanese embassy in Libya confirms that the state’s regime apparatus is working in islands isolated from each other.

He added: “If the matter is related to the open criminal communication in the face of Toubak due to the killing of the dean of the police, then the law enforcement agencies have previously justified the disruption of criminal procedures.”

He explained that the exceptional conditions prompted the launch of prisoners and detainees and disrupting the procedures for applying the law due to the war, as “the situation remains as it is.”

The Sudanese embassy did not comment on the causes of arrest or the fate of Tobac
