Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The journalist Nasr Yaqoub said that he survived the death of the investigator on Thursday, in Al-Fasher after he was shot by an element of the Sudan Liberation Movement, the Transitional Council led by Salah Gasus in his workplace in the Abu Shok camp market for the displaced.
Yaqoub stated that the element bearing the rank of captain was asked to hand over the Starlink device, which is locally called “Wi -Fi”.
He pointed out that he rejected the request, which called on the element to shoot him from his pistol in front of the beneficiaries, where he said: “Were it not for the kindness of God, I would have killed me.
Yaqoub explained that the elements of the joint force, especially those affiliated with the Transitional Council, “have become a gang who use their powers to abuse and loot citizens illegally.”
He stated that the perpetrator has more than four “Starlink” stores in the Abu Shok camp market, likely to have been confiscated by its owners in varying periods with unjustified excuses, and he was also involved in the looting of citizens ’property of the reasons for communicating with rapid support.
Most of the Darfur regions depend on the “Starlink” devices to provide the Internet provided by people through commercial stores, after the communications infrastructure conflict in the region destroyed.
The journalist revealed that he had begun procedures for restricting a lawsuit against the perpetrator with the competent authorities.
One of the owners of Starlink – who preferred to withhold his name – told “Darfur 24” that the Intelligence of the Joint Force prevents the owners of Starlink from operating their stores with security reasons, while allowing the power elements who have devices to operate them.
He added: “In the event that the citizens refuse to stop the arrest, they will confiscate the devices, and this is done in the shadow of complete silence and defective by the army intelligence in Al -Fasher.”
He pointed out that the Internet services in the Abu Shok camp market have stopped since Thursday due to the shooting incident at the journalist Nasr Yaqoub.
