South Sudan takes measures in response to the statements of Yasser Al -Atta

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the State of South Sudan said that the statements of Lieutenant General Yasser Al-Atta regarding the willingness of the Sudanese government and its armed forces to deal with what he described as “traitors” inside southern Sudan are not only reckless and provocative statements, but also a flagrant violation of the principles of good neighborhood, peaceful coexistence, and international law.

In a statement, the Foreign Ministry expressed its deep concern and strong condemnation of Al -Atta’s statements, in which he issued threats to the military aggression against the people and sovereignty of South Sudan.

The government of South Sudan said that all the necessary measures will be taken to protect its territorial integrity and the safety of its citizens, and it will continue to be vigilant and ready to defend its nation against any form of aggression, while continuing to seek diplomatic solutions to preserve peace in the region

Regional and international partners, including the African Union and the United Nations, called for taking these hostile statements into consideration and communicating with the Republic of Sudan to prevent any escalation that may threaten peace and regional security.
