The United Nations reveals the level of security situation in Khartoum

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The Humanitarian Aid Coordination Office of “the United Nations in Sudan, said that despite the high levels of pollution with unexploded ammunition, the security situation in Khartoum has improved, as reaching areas that was difficult to reach previously has become possible.

He pointed out that many agencies are challenges in obtaining travel permits and declaring work in the capital, as well as in the states of the Nile, Kasla and Sennar.

He said that June 2025 witnessed an increase in violent incidents targeting humanitarian workers and relief convoys, which led to a significant disruption in the delivery of basic services and supplies.

He stressed that the aid convoy was on its way to Al -Fasher on June 2 was attacked in the pile, north of Darfur, killing five humanitarian workers.

The international organization said that gunmen kidnapped a team of an international non -governmental organization who was visiting Nortetti, in central Darfur and was released safely after 48 hours.

And these incidents continued to be armed with the urgent need to enhance the protection of humanitarian workers and its operations in the conflict areas.

It is still the siege of El -Fasher, north of Darfur, strongly restricted the arrival of humanitarian aid and the flow of basic commodities, as the ongoing conflict and intermittent bombing are threatened by civilians.

Reports indicated that the authorities impose various fees and taxes on local communities – including a share of humanitarian aid – which leads to the diverting and obstructing the course of aid, undermining the effectiveness of aid and increasing pressure on the most vulnerable groups.

According to the United Nations, the delay in obtaining travel permits between states impeded the implementation of vital tasks in light of the increasing cholera cases
