Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The United Nations Humanitarian Coordination Office raised the alarm about the danger of possible floods during the rainy season in Sudan, which will continue until October. Any flood can disable land access, impeding aid delivery, and increase the risk of disease outbreaks.

Last year, nearly half a million people were affected by floods in parts of Sudan. The United Nations and its partners confirm their willingness to respond wherever access and resources are allowed. However, the sharp deficiency in financing limits our ability to store vital supplies in advance, according to UN spokesman, Stephen Dujarric.

The United Nations has announced that the Personal Envoy of the Secretary -General of Sudan, Ramtan Lamamra, intensifies his good endeavors to support efforts to reduce the escalation of conflict and pushing a political solution in Sudan.

UN spokesman, Stephen Dujarric, said at the daily press conference that the personal envoy continues to emphasize the vital importance of intensifying and unifying diplomatic efforts by the international community to end the war.

Dujarric added that the Mr. Lamamra team is currently working on completing the consultations on the next meeting of the consulting group, which will be organized in conjunction with the African Union in Addis Ababa. The personal envoy also continues his efforts to launch a preparatory consultations with the parties on protecting civilians.

Fleischer speaks with the leadership of both parties

On the other hand, the Undersecretary of the Secretary -General for Humanitarian Affairs, Tom Fletcher, spoke with senior officials of the Sudanese Armed Forces and the Rapid Support Forces this week to pressure for a humanitarian truce that allows life -saving aid to reach thousands of people in the besieged city of El Fasher.

Since April last year, the United Nations and its partners have faced difficulty in reaching civilians who need highly needed. Dujarric said that the United Nations will continue its communications with the aim of facilitating rapid and safe access to vital aid.

Meanwhile, Dujarik said that the United Nations is still very concerned about the human impact of continuous fighting throughout Sudan, especially in the Kordofan region, where the fighting leads to an escalation of displacement and exacerbates the needs.

According to the International Organization for Migration, the insecurity in the northern and western states of Kordofan prompted more than 30,000 people to flee their towns and villages.

People also continue to flee hostilities in North Darfur, where the fighting in El Fasher has displaced more than 400,000 people since April of this year, most of them to the Tawila region.

During the past month, nearly 8,000 displaced people from North Darfur arrived in the Dabba locality in the northern state, according to the local authorities there. This flow has increased pressure on limited resources, which affected the possibility of shelter, clean water, food and health care.

The United Nations renews the call to the parties

Stephen Dujarric renewed the United Nations calling to all parties in Sudan to protect civilians and civil infrastructure and facilitate safe and sustainable access to weak -actual groups throughout the country, in line with its obligations under international humanitarian law.
