Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The Independent United Nations Mission of Facts on Sudan said that the civil conflict in the country does not approach its end, noting that the suffering of civilians is exacerbating day by day in light of the disintegration of the ruling, the militarization of society, and the intervention of foreign parties.

The mission confirmed, in a report on Tuesday to the Human Rights Council in Geneva, that it had gathered evidence of international crimes that stain the reputation of all those involved in it.

The report pointed out that what started as a political crisis may have turned into a major human rights emergency that enters its third year without any signs of a near solution.

The mission renewed its call to the international community to impose a comprehensive ban on the supply of weapons to Sudan, and to ensure the pursuit of those responsible for grave violations.

She pointed to her documentation of the escalation of heavy weapons in residential areas, a worrying rise in sexual violence, a systematic blockade of medical facilities, in addition to the use of aid as a war weapon.

The head of the mission, Muhammad Shandi Othman, said that Sudan is witnessing a bloody crisis that feeds day by day in the absence of political will, noting that the mission “gathered evidence and files about the potential perpetrators” and cooperated secretly with international judicial authorities.

For its part, the member of the mission, Mona Rashmawi, said that what started as a political and security crisis has now become a serious state of human rights emergency, pointing out that the violations committed staining the reputation of all those involved in it, while civilians continue to pay the largest price, especially women and children.

The report pointed out that the war – which erupted in April 2023 between the Sudanese army and the Rapid Support Forces resulted in the killing of thousands, and the displacement of more than 13 million people inside and outside Sudan, in light of the widespread destruction of infrastructure, markets and health facilities.

The mission indicated that it had documented an escalation in targeting civilians in the city of El Fasher, from arrests and killing to burning villages and looting property by the Rapid Support Forces.

“During an attack between 10 and 13 April on the vicinity of the city, more than 100 civilians were killed, while 15 others were killed in the bombing of the pile. The Rapid Support Forces also committed a massacre in the Al -Salha neighborhood of Omdurman on April 27, killing 30 civilians.

In other areas under the control of the army, such as Khartoum, Sennar and Al -Jazeera, the mission said that it has documented widespread reprisals, targeting civilians suspected of support for rapid support, including doctors, relief workers and activists, some of whom were tortured and executed.

The mission warned that the warring parties turned humanitarian aid into a tool for pressure and starvation, pointing out that the army imposed restrictions that it described as bureaucracy on their connection, while the rapid support forces looted convoys and prevented them from reaching the affected people.
