Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Security Council members expressed their deep concern about the escalation of violence, including in the city of El Fasher and its environs, North Darfur, and affirmed their strong commitment to Sudan’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.

The members of the Council strongly condemned the repeated attacks by the Rapid Support Forces on Al -Fasher, as well as on the Zamzam and Abu Shok camps for the displaced internally in recent days.

They expressed their deep concern about the reports that the rapid support forces attacks resulted in the killing of at least four hundred civilians, including children, and at least eleven relief workers and called for the rapid support forces accounting accountable for these attacks.

The members of the Council mentioned Resolution 2736/2024, they repeated their demand for the Rapid Support Forces to stop the siege of El -Fasher; And they called for the immediate stopping to fight and calm the situation in and around Al -Fasher.

Members of the Council called on the parties to the conflict to protect civilians and comply with their obligations under international law, including international humanitarian law, and to fulfill Resolution 2736/2024 as well as fulfill their obligations under the Jeddah Declaration.

They also demanded that the Rapid Support Forces be held accountable and all perpetrators of attacks on civilians, violations and human rights violations in Sudan.

Members of the Security Council called on all parties to the conflict to respect and protect the humanitarian workers, their headquarters and their assets, according to their obligations under international law.

They also called on the parties to allow humanitarian aid safely and without obstacle to Sudan and throughout its parts, in line with the provisions of relevant international law and United Nations guidelines for humanitarian assistance, including humanity, integrity, neutrality and independence.

The members of the Security Council expressed their deep concern about the second anniversary of the conflict in Sudan and its impact on the people of Sudan and the region. Members of the Council called on the parties to the conflict to seek an immediate endowment of hostilities.

They encouraged the parties to engage, in good faith, in a political dialogue in order to a permanent ceasefire and a comprehensive and universal political process and owned by the Sudanese.

They called on the parties to seize the opportunity of the UN -led proximity talks to agree on steps to work quickly to achieve these goals and work to end a sustainable crisis in Sudan.

Members of the Council urged all member states to refrain from external intervention that seeks to fuel the conflict and instability, support permanent peace efforts, and reminded all parties to the conflict and member states to fulfill their obligations to comply with the measures to ban the weapons stipulated in paragraph 7 and 8 of Resolution 1556 (2004), which were reaffirmed and renewed in Resolution 2750 (2024).
