The coordination of professionals and unions demanded that the salaries be disbursed per month for all workers, with a maximum of the fifth day of each month and the arrears of salaries and financial dues.
And raising the minimum wage to (210,000) Sudanese pounds, and increasing fixed bonuses, covering at least 50-60% of the monthly living cost.
She confirmed that she would move forward in escalating pressure on the relevant authorities, in order to extract these legitimate rights and put an end to the daily suffering experienced by the workers and their families.
She said that she conducted through the Syndicate Construction Committee a field study that monitored the profound impact of the war on the living situation of workers, and showed shocking results: a clear deficit in meeting the needs of daily life, and the almost complete collapse in the purchasing power of current salaries.
She noted that, based on a study prepared by the Social Bureau of the Sudanese Teachers Committee, which included the cost of living for a family of five individuals, and compared them to the limit of global poverty and the levels of wages in the countries of the region, the coordination concluded that the current wages do not cover up to the minimum requirements for decent survival.
