Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The International Court of Justice rejected Sudan’s accusations against the UAE over genocide in West Darfur against the Masalit tribe and causing war in Sudan.

In a session, the court ruled that it is not competent to consider the issue of the Republic of Sudan against the UAE because of the latter’s reservation to Article Nine of the Genocial Prevention Agreement and refuses to issue a matter of temporary measures and the issue is canceled.

The International Court of Justice made it clear that the rationale that the government of Sudan filed in its complaint against the Emirates carried sufficient indications of proceeding in the lawsuit, while it described the reservations that the UAE submitted in the context of its defense as public reservations that require a lot of detail and identification.

The first public listening sessions in Sudan’s lawsuit against the UAE regarding Sudan’s request to refer to temporary measures in accordance with (the implementation of the agreement to prevent the crime of genocide and punish it in Sudan) were launched.

The court heard the rationale submitted by Sudan, which included a number of evidence that proves the Emirates’s involvement in the Sudan war, by providing it with the rapid support militia with weapons and war hardware, which enabled it to commit genocide in West Darfur, war crimes and many grave violations.
