Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov announced his country’s readiness to consider the possibility of increasing scholarships that Russia provides to Sudanese students, if there is an actual need for that, in the context of its continuous support for building capacity in Sudan and enhancing cooperation in the areas of education and training.
During his meeting with his Sudanese counterpart, Ali Youssef Ali, on the sidelines of the work of the Antalya Diplomatic Forum in Turkey, the Russian Foreign Ministry affirmed his country’s fixed and supportive position of Sudan, and Russia’s commitment to support the Sudanese government in international forums, especially in the Security Council.
During the meeting, the Sudanese Foreign Minister presented a detailed enlightenment on the situation in Sudan, reviewing the field victories achieved by the Sudanese armed forces recently, foremost of which was the restoration of control of the capital, Khartoum.
He stressed the Sudanese government’s commitment to restore security and stability to all parts of the country.
