Details of discussions between Egypt and southern Sudan

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Badr Abdel-Ati, the Egyptian Foreign Minister, discussed with his counterpart from South Sudan, “Monday Simaya Compa”, the total bilateral relations and regional developments of common concern.

According to the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Minister Abdel -Ati stressed the statement of Egypt’s great interest in the security and stability of South Sudan, consuming bilateral relations between the two countries, and aspiration to consolidate the frameworks of cooperation between them within the framework of the common interests of the two countries.

Minister Abdel Ati was keen to confirm that Egypt and South Sudan have many common interests in various fields that require the activation of bilateral coordination, pointing to the increase in Egyptian investments in South Sudan during the past decade in many fields such as education, agriculture, irrigation, and health.

The Foreign Minister expressed the aspiration to cross the brothers in southern Sudan in peace for the transitional stage towards a stable, security, political and economic state, calling on all parties in South Sudan to support the transitional process in South Sudan, and work to bring views closer and uphold the national interest, as well as enhance the benefit from the support provided by the international community and regional organizations.

For his part, Minister “Monday Simaya Komba” praised the historical relations that link his country to Egypt, stressing the keenness of South Sudan to develop relations with Egypt in various fields, as well as the understanding of South Sudan for Egyptian water concerns, expressing their keenness on positive interaction with Egypt in order to achieve the common interest of the two countries.
