High consultations between Egypt and the European Union on Sudan

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs discussed with the European Union Foreign Service, the developments of the Sudanese crisis, and the developments of the situation in the Horn of Africa and the coast, in addition to the Nile water file.

The two sides dealt with the prospects for cooperation between the African and European Union, and visions were exchanged on regional issues of common concern, and reviewing ways to enhance coordination and mutual support in international forums.

The two sides stressed the importance of continuing constructive consultation and coordination to support efforts to achieve security, stability and sustainable development in the African continent, and to enhance the institutional partnership between the African and European federations.

The consultations witnessed a high -level participation from both sides, as Ambassador Yasser Sorour, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director of Sudan and South Sudan, and Ambassador Ashraf Swailem, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs, Director of African Organizations and Communities Department, participated. Also, the European Union Mission in Cairo and the Arab Republic of Egypt in Brussels, in the framework of institutional coordination between the two sides.
