Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Citizens in the city of Wad Madani, the capital of Al-Jazeera, said that they avoid leaving the nights during the night hours due to the spread of looting and thieves in many residential neighborhoods.
The war drew its manifestations on the city that the army recovered in January 2025, and shows hundreds of stores in the main market that was looted as if its owners no longer had the ability to resume commercial activity again.
A citizen residing in the Dardaq neighborhood, east of the city of Wadddni, told “Ultra Sudan” that the city has not yet recovered its vitality, because the looting accidents terrify the citizens, and they prefer not to leave the houses after sunset.
She added: “Citizens made calls to the police to spread their elements, especially since some thieves carry weapons, and usually looted under the threat, whether it is for the phone, the money or the bag in the possession of passers -by.”
The “Umm Al -Qura” Observatory concerned with monitoring violations and the humanitarian situation in the state of the island had indicated that the security situation in Wadddni has become bad, and people do not leave their homes during the night.
The Observatory stressed, in the publication of Wednesday, July 2, 2025, the need for the state to move to protect the main market in Waddani, deploy the regular forces, and prevent the entry of any military group during the night.
When the Rapid Support Forces attacked the city of Waddani at the end of December 2023, the United Nations agencies left the city to the east of the country, and despite the armed forces taking control of it since January 2025, and Damdini is still looking for the relative safety that prevailed before the war.
The “Ultra Sudan” correspondent from the Al -Jazeera government asked to comment on the escalating complaints of citizens about the increasing looting of the streets, including the city center, but it did not respond.
Othman, who lives in the Mayo and Daddni neighborhood, told Ultra Sudan: The plunder of passers -by is easy for thieves, soon they are famous for your weapon or a sharp machine, and ask you to give them everything with you.
Othman believes that the phenomenon of looting may be linked to the military formations in Wadddni. In such times after the city’s restoration after military battles, there is a feeling of chaos, and the pursuit of money at any cost.
