“Samoud” decides its position on the Islamists meeting

Follow-up- Muhammad Saeed Halfawi- A spokesman for the Democratic Civil Alliance of the Revolutionary Forces, “Samoud”, Bakri Al-Jack, announced that the dialogue with the Islamists is “unrealistic, because they do not recognize the December revolution, and they consider it merely a military coup.

Jack said, according to Ultra Sudan, that the Islamists, between the wing of Ali Karti and Ahmed Haroun, are participating in the war alongside the army, and they do not recognize the revolution that overthrew them.

“The Islamists have not apologized for the 30 -year period, and they deal with the December revolution in the military coup field on the morning of April 11, 2019.”

He continued, “The civil forces should not be criminalized about igniting the war, because they adopted the dialogue to solve the problems of Sudan, and we are dealing in an environment in which Islamists are active to restore the periods of jihad and possess armed battalions.”

Al -Jack said that the “steadfast” forces were in contact with the army and rapid support, and urged them to go to negotiations and a ceasefire. He pointed out that the Islamists, “After all that happened during three decades, they did not apologize to the Sudanese, and did not agree to dismantle the military structure of the Islamic movement; therefore, the Islamists cannot be dealt with without accountability, justice and acknowledgment,” according to his testimony.

Regarding the possibility of handing over the military to civilians, according to the political vision that the civil coalition of the forces of the revolution, “Samoud”, recently published, a spokesman for “Samoud”, Bakri Al -Jack, replied that “this matter is up to its time, according to the results and factors that occur on the ground.”

He added, “The military must know that controlling power for many years has brought the country to wars, and the normal situation of armies is the performance of military tasks, and not getting involved in the corridors of the state.”

“How do we persuade the army to hand over power to civilians? This is up to the discussions that will happen from a wide part of the Sudanese, and not limited to a steadfast alliance. However, we say that the military must learn from previous experiences and their results, and if they do not reach the stage of good reflection, the Sudanese can discuss the concerns of the military.”
