📝 Details:
The leaders of political forces, human rights defenders and diplomats, Secretary -General of the United Nations, called for changing his personal envoy Ramtan Lamamra, because his continuation in the position causes the crisis to complicate.
103 political leaders sent a letter to Antonio Guterres related to the performance of Amamra, who said that his continuation in his position is to complicate the crisis and undermine the efforts of the United Nations to play positive roles in achieving peace and stability.
He called for the appointment of a new personal envoy who possesses the capabilities of negotiating and communicating with all parties and activating the mechanisms of the international and regional community.
The speech was accused of Amamra of default in the face of the use of the parties to the existing conflict as a weapon in the fighting and the lack of pressure to stop the war to protect and relief civilians.
And Lamamara, despite the passage of a year and a half, has been able to design or support the launch of a political process and a peace process to stop the war or a road map to end it.
The speech pointed out that Amamra ignored the legacy and history of the civil forces and lack of confidence in its views and its impact on any peace process to stop the war, describing the consultations that he held with it as unbreakable while intentionally excluding the political and democratic forces, supporting the “high rifle voice in exchange for weakening the voices of civilians.”
He criticized what he called “an identification of Amamra with the thesis and preaching it, especially its adoption of slogans to protect state institutions and promote the road map that he launched with its prelude to dividing the country and its celebration of appointing ministers of legitimacy.”
The speech said that Amamra put the credibility of the United Nations at its lowest levels, due to his choice of the army from all the owners of the Sudanese interests, which lost “confidence in the capabilities of his office with his clear bias until he became unable to accomplish his duties in communicating with the actors and bringing views.”
