Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The US State Department announced that Deputy Secretary of State Christopher Landau, a chief adviser to US Secretary of State for Africa, Massad Paul, held a meeting on the conflict in Sudan with the ambassadors of the United Arab Emirates Youssef Al-Otaiba, the Ambassador of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Rima Bint Al Saud, and the Ambassador of Egypt Moataz Zahran.
A statement issued by the official spokeswoman for the Foreign Ministry, Tami Bruce, said that Landau, and in awareness that the conflict in Sudan threatens the common interests in the region and creates a humanitarian crisis that stressed that the United States does not believe that the conflict in Sudan is militarily resolved, which requires the group to seek to persuade the warring parties to stop hostilities and reach a negotiating solution.
The statement pointed out that, in recognition of the regional influence of the Sudanese crisis, the US Deputy Secretary of State affirmed the United States’ commitment to work closely with the group to address the crisis, noting that he discussed the next steps to achieve this.
