Egypt and America announce an agreement on Sudan

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdel-Ati, with Musaad Paul, the chief adviser to the American President for Arab Affairs and the Middle East and a high-ranking advisor to Africa, discussed the developments of the situation in Libya, Sudan and the Great Lakes region.

The Egyptian Foreign Minister stressed his country’s position supporting Sudan, stressing the need to preserve the unity and stability of Sudan, its national institutions, sovereignty, and territorial integrity.

He noted Egypt’s keenness on positive interaction with various regional and international efforts aimed at the ceasefire in Sudan, in order to ensure an end to the humanitarian suffering of the brotherly Sudanese people.

It has been agreed to raise the level of joint coordination between Egypt and the United States, as well as with the actors on Sudan and stop the war there.

During the phone call, Minister Abdel -Ati reviewed the outputs of the triple mechanism meeting of the neighboring countries of Libya, which was held in Cairo with the participation of the foreign ministers of Egypt, Algeria and Tunisia, which stressed the need to maintain security and stability in all Libyan lands, preserve the capabilities of the Libyan state and respect the unity and integrity of its lands.

He stressed the importance of the exit of all foreign forces, mercenaries and foreign fighters from Libya and dismantling the armed militias, in a way that contributes to restoring security and stability in Libya.

Paul has agreed with the minister about the importance of working to achieve stability in Libya and end the current division.
