Details of “Kitchen” Kamel Idris to choose the government and a mysterious fate for “Gabriel”

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Sources revealed that the new Sudanese Prime Minister Kamel Idris begins extensive consultations to form his government, following his performance of the section during the next two days.

Government sources said, according to the Saudi newspaper Al -Sharq, that Idris, who arrived in Port Sudan, on Thursday, will begin extensive consultations to choose his ministers, after the “assigned” Sudanese government dissolved.

The sources added that the new prime minister’s direction will be closer to the ministerial amendment than the formation of the government, as the preservation of the share of the armed movements signed on the Juba Peace Agreement, most notably the “Popular Movement” led by the Vice -President of the Sovereign Council, Malik Aqar, the “Sudan Liberation Movement” led by the ruler of Darfur Mona Arko Minawi, and the “Justice and Equality” movement led by the Minister of Finance, Gabriel Ibrahim.

Circles close to the Sudanese authority denied what was reported recently regarding the possibility of granting armed groups fighting alongside the army, such as “Sudan’s shield” led by Abu Aqla Kiel, and “Al -Bara Bin Malik Legion” near the Islamic trend, part of the ministerial portfolios, in an effort to be the Idris government composed of independent non -partisan competencies.

Re -selecting two costly ministers

It is expected that two assigned ministers will be re -selected with two bags in the new government, the current Minister of Health, Haitham Mohamed Ibrahim, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Omar Siddiq.

The fate of the Minister of Finance, Gabriel Ibrahim, remains mysterious, and it is not yet known whether the movement led by this ministry will be again, or will he, or other leaders of his movement, will be appointed in another ministerial position, and the same applies to the current Minister of Minerals, Muhammad Bashir Abu Namo, who is a leader in the movement led by the ruler of Darfur from Arko Minawi.

The army leaders are likely to choose the defense and interior ministers of the nature of the security ministries in the current war conditions, according to the sources.

The Sudanese Sovereignty Council Chairman Abdel -Fattah Al -Burhan issued a decree appointing Kamel Al -Tayeb Idris Abdel Hafeez as Prime Minister, amid controversy on the legality of the decision and the possibility of building on it.

Before Idris arrived in Port Sudan, the Sovereign Council decided to cancel the previous guidance under the supervision of its members on ministries and government units, giving the prime minister a package of extensive powers.

After a long wait, and a ministry assigned mostly, since October 2021, the Sovereignty Council in Sudan decided to refer civil tasks to the Prime Minister, in light of extreme challenges and great divisions, which makes Idris in light of the war more like “walking in a minefield”.

Kamel Idris is known as a specialist in law, who previously served as director of the International Intellectual Property Organization, and although there was no known party affiliation for him, but in 1999, he succeeded in combining the two archenemy, Sadiq al -Mahdi, the former Prime Minister, and Hassan al -Turabi, the historical leader of the Islamic movement, Sudan, during a meeting in Geneva.

The new Sudanese Prime Minister faces very complicated tasks, especially with regard to the selection of ministers and the removal of quotas between political forces, focusing on independent personalities of competencies, and finding solutions for collapsed services and the declining economic situation in the country, including the health sector, especially the spread of cholera. It will also be to avoid the influence of army leaders on it, and to work to bring views between highly repulsive political blocs.
