At the conclusion of the “African Lion 2025” maneuvers, which ended the activities of its twenty -first edition last Friday, between the United States and African and European countries, General Michael Langley, the largest American military official in Africa, said about the need to share military burdens with regional partners, stressing the importance of enabling African partners to reach the level of independent operations, according to the Associated Press.

This change in American policy in Africa coincides with the escalation of fears that the expansion of violence and armed conflicts may exceed the current hot points, with the increasing wars and the growing influence of rebel groups.

The maneuvers of the “African lion 25”, which started in the middle of last April, took place in four countries: Morocco, Tunisia, Ghana and Senegal. With the participation of more than 10,000 soldiers from more than 20 countries, not among them Sudan, are: Tunisia, Morocco, Egypt, Libya, Mauritania, Cameroon, Cape Verde, Djibouti, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea Bissau, Kenya, Nigeria, Benin, Kut Dapewar, Liberia, Senegal, Togo, France, Portugal, the United Kingdom, Hungary, Israel, the Netherlands, along with the United States.

These annual maneuvers, which were launched for the first time in 2004, and became the largest joint multinational maneuvering of the American military leadership in Africa, aimed at showing the capabilities of the comprehensive power of African partners and allies, building its strategic readiness, operational approval, its ability to spread, fight and victory in a multiple complex environment.
