The first response from the Sudanese army to the American accusations using a “chemist”

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Sudanese army spokesperson Nabil Abdullah said, in his first reaction to American accusations of using chemical weapons, that he does not use internationally prohibited weapons.

He stressed in a statement of Bim Ribors, that the United States is marketing the same misleading justifications on the basis of which the war was launched on Iraq, and added, “The Sudanese Armed Forces do not use such forbidden weapons at all.”

On Thursday, the US State Department spokeswoman, Tamami Bruce, announced that her country decided that the government of Sudan used chemical weapons in 2024, which is a violation of its obligations under the Chemical Weapons Prohibition Agreement.

Bruce said, in a statement, that her country will impose new sanctions that include restricting American exports to Sudan and preventing the Sudanese government from reaching the US government’s credit lines.

The American official indicated that the sanctions will enter into force when publishing a notice in the federal registry, expected to be done in or about the sixth of June 2025.
