“Rapid Support” attacks the head of the African Union Commission

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The rebel Rapid Support Forces denounced the positions and statements of the President of the African Union Commission, which it said was characterized by a blatant bias to one of the parties to the conflict in Sudan, in an explicit contradiction with the official stated position of the African Union, which ruled to suspend Sudan’s membership.

She said in a statement that the statements made by Mahmoud Ali Youssef, after his meeting with a delegation of what she described as the illegal “Port Sudan Group”, on the sidelines of the Arab summit held in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, in which he praised the control of the army, ”is a clear evidence of flagrant bias, and an open attempt to run the African position in favor of one of the parties to the conflict.

She noted that these statements are a flagrant violation of the values ​​of neutrality and objectivity that those who occupy a high continental position must have, and they are completely contradictory to the declared position of the African Union, which does not recognize the existing authority in Sudan and direct it to play the role of mediator in any political scientific that ends the conflict in Sudan.

The statement called on the African Union Commission to respect its institutional decisions, and to take a responsible position that reflects the aspirations of the peoples of the continent towards democracy and justice, not aligned with the coup and authoritarian regimes.
