Details of an international regional meeting on Sudan

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The Chairman of the African Union Commission, Mahmoud Ali Youssef, the Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, and the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Antonio Guterres, discussed developments in Sudan, on the sidelines of the Arab Summit in Baghdad.

The three officials expressed their deep concern over the exacerbation of the conflict and the humanitarian crisis in Sudan.

They called for an urgent international move to end violence, ensure the arrival of humanitarian aid, and support a permanent ceasefire.

They agreed to continue coordinating efforts for a peaceful solution to the conflict, and they affirmed their commitment to Sudan’s sovereignty, unity and territorial integrity.
