Saudi Arabia signs an arms deal with the United States “the largest in history”

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The United States and Saudi Arabia concluded a huge arms deal that the White House described as “the largest in history”, this comes as part of a series of agreements signed by US President Donald Trump and Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman in Riyadh.

“The United States and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia signed the largest defensive sales deal in history, with a value of approximately 142 billion dollars”, to provide the Gulf Kingdom with “advanced combat equipment.”

In addition, the two parties signed a “strategic economic partnership” agreement in a luxurious celebration at the Royal Yamama Palace in Riyadh, where Trump started a Gulf tour that will last for several days.

Trump and Prince Muhammad signed the agreement, which he described in advance of the event as a “strategic economic partnership document”, without further details. Meanwhile, Saudi ministers, officials and American officials signed other memoranda of understanding in the fields of defense and energy.

The agreements and memoranda of understanding included the following:

– The signing of a memorandum of intent between the ministries of defense in the two countries regarding the development and modernization of the capabilities of the Saudi armed forces through future defense capabilities.

Signing an agreement between the ministries of energy in the Kingdom and the United States to cooperate in the field of energy.

– A memorandum of cooperation in the field of mining and mineral resources between the Saudi Ministry of Industry and Mineral Resources and the US Department of Energy.

– A letter of intent to complete business, enhance joint cooperation, develop requirements related to ammunition, training, support and maintenance services, modernization of systems, spare parts and education for land and air systems of the Ministry of National Guard.

A memorandum of understanding between international partnership programs in the Saudi Ministry of Interior and the Federal Investigation Office at the US Department of Justice.

– An intention between the Saudi Ministry of Defense and the US Department of Defense regarding the development of the health capabilities of the Saudi Armed Forces.

A Memorandum of Understanding for Judicial Cooperation between the Ministry of Justice in Saudi Arabia and the Ministry of Justice in America.

– An executive agreement between the Saudi Space Agency and NASA to cooperate in the Cubatat project to monitor space weather within the mission of Arts 2.

– An agreement between the government of the Kingdom and the US government on mutual assistance between customs universities in the two countries.

– Protocol to amend an agreement on air transport between the government of Saudi Arabia and the US government.

A memorandum of understanding for cooperation between the National Institute for Health Research in the Kingdom and the American Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases in the field of medical research on infectious diseases.

– A cooperation agreement between the Royal Commission for the Al -Ula Governorate and the Smith Sonian Foundation through the National Institute of Animal and Biology, to preserve the environment.

– A cooperation agreement between the Royal Commission for Al -Ula Governorate and the Smith Sonian Foundation through the National Museum of Asian Arts.
