This came in an official letter directed by the Undersecretary of the Sudanese Ministry of Energy and Oil, d. Deng Lul Wall, where Khartoum held the Rapid Support Forces responsible for the attacks, noting that they used the aircraft running in targeting vital oil facilities.

Al -Khattab confirmed that one of the most dangerous attacks occurred at the dawn of May 9, 2025, as it targeted the pumping station No. 5 in the “Al -Houdi” area, which caused severe damage threatening to completely disrupt exports.

The attacks included fuel warehouses, electrical stations and vibrant logistical facilities, which led to disruptions in supply chains and power outages from crude loading facilities in Port Sudan.

The Undersecretary pointed out that these attacks were not only harmful to production and transport facilities, but also the Sudanese and southern economies have been huge losses, and affected foreign investors as a result of the stopping of production for long periods and the costs of restarting.

In light of these developments, the ministry clarified that it issued urgent directions for the “Petco” and “Babco” companies to prepare a quick emergency plan to close the facilities, which will be implemented unless the attacks that threaten the safety of installations and hinder Sudan’s obligations under joint cooperation agreements.

It is noteworthy that the “Petco” line plays a pivotal role in exporting South Sudan oil, which makes its stability a strategic necessity for both countries, at a time when security risks escalate along the oil infrastructure.
