Sudan makes a new decision on its embassy and the consulate in the Emirates

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that the title of the official website of the General Consulate of the Republic of Sudan in Dubai and the Northern Emirates (to an indefinite term.

She said that this is in implementation of the decisions of the Security and Defense Council and the decisions of the Council of Sovereignty and the government of Sudan, and in conjunction with the ongoing process.

The Sudanese Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that Ambassador Abdel Rahman Ahmed Khaled Sharafi has no official status to issue official statements, and that his relationship with the Sudanese embassy in Abu Dhabi has ended since October 2024, and has retired with compulsory pension since.

The former Sudan Ambassador, Abdul Rahman Ahmed Khaled Sharafi, issued a statement expressed his categorical rejection of the announcement issued by what he described as “the Islamists” in Port Sudan to cut diplomatic relations with the United Arab Emirates and withdraw the Sudan embassy in Abu Dhabi and the Consulate General in Dubai.

He said that the relations between Sudan and the UAE extend for decades of close cooperation and mutual understanding, which are firm relations based on respect and common interests. Such polemics cannot affect the essence of these typical historical relationships.

He affirmed his continuation in his work as the legitimate and official ambassador of Sudan to the United Arab Emirates and his lack of acknowledging the decision issued to end his work because he was issued on the one hand that does not possess legitimacy and does not represent the Sudanese people, as he put it.

Noting that the decision to nominate him to work as an ambassador was issued by the glorious government of the December Revolution, and from this standpoint announced the continuation of the embassy of the Republic of Sudan in Abu Dhabi and the General Consulate in Dubai in their work and providing their services to the Sudanese community in the UAE.
