A surprise deal between Sudan and Ethiopia

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Sudanese Minister of Energy and Oil announced. Mohieddine Naim, on reaching an agreement with Ethiopia, providing it with gas in exchange for electricity, in an attempt to recover the country from its grinding crisis in the electricity sector.

The minister pointed out that the agreement does not include natural gas, but rather liquefied oil gas known locally as “cooking gas”, which was later confirmed by the Ministry of Energy, denying Sudan’s possession of sufficient natural gas resources for export.
