Fires eliminate a thousand palm trees in northern Sudan

Meroe- Al-Zawiya Net- A number of waterwalks in the Al-Barkal area in the administrative unit in northern Sudan were subjected to a large fire in palm trees, which caused severe damage and the burning of large quantities of trees that exceeded (1,000) palm trees.

The local security committee, the director of the Karima Administrative Unit, the Director of Civil Defense in the locality, and the head of the Karima Police Department in the field, stood on the repercussions of the fire.

The civil defense vehicle was unable to reach the site of the fire due to the lack of an internal path of the fire sites, so that the small pumps were used to put out the fire, while the youth of the region made efforts in extinguishing operations and limiting the spread of the fire.

The phenomenon of palm fires is noticeably and noticeably during these days in a number of local areas without knowing the real reasons behind the phenomenon.

Reasons for the multiplicity of palm farms fires in northern Sudan

The Executive Director of the Sudanese Palm Care Association, Imad Idris Fadl Al -Mawla, according to an Arab Independent, attributed the repetition of the fire series to a group of concerted elements in the forefront of which is the neglect of farmers, the cleanliness of the orchards, and left them with the granules of the nuclei of dates, which enjoy the characteristic of self To transfer the fire in a way that resembles the property of gasoline, in addition to the accumulation of dry palm trees on the ground or hanging on the trees, which is considered an assistant factor, fueling the fire, and it is also recommended by the winds and moves quickly between the close trees, ruling at the same time what the common people are repeated by popular interpretations, regarding that they are from the act of the jinn.

According to the agricultural expert, a former professor of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) Dao Hussein Daoud, the reasons for the spread of palm fires to a group of social, environmental and economic factors.

Requirements for preventing fires in the palm trees

He said, according to Radio Dabanga, that the only way to address the problem of palm fires is through the implementation of legislation and laws, in addition to annual hygiene operations. It is believed that citizens must abandon their palm trees for the benefit of the government, not permanently, but for the purposes of re -transplantation in an organized manner, as a genetic complex should be created for all promising items.

He advised that the government remove all palm trees and plant new breeds from different types of palm trees in an organized scientific way while leaving appropriate distances and separations. He believes that this is the best way to reduce fires, which will facilitate fire engines to palm farms
