The internet paralysis in Egypt due to a huge fire

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The outbreak of a massive fire inside the main Symbols of Ramses on Al-Gomhoria Street, the Egyptian capital, Cairo, within the scope of the Uzbek neighborhood in central Cairo, caused direct effects on the Internet and mobile services in several areas in Cairo and Giza.

Egyptian citizens in a number of Cairo and Giza neighborhoods complained of the interruption of ground Internet service after the outbreak of the war, and they also confirmed that they suffer from difficulties in mobile networks.

According to security sources, according to Al -Dustour newspaper, the fire began in the seventh floor of the Central building as a result of the ignition of the waste on the roof of the building, and the fire suddenly extended into the building, which necessitated a rapid intervention from the relevant agencies, which pushed a large number of firefighting and ambulances.

The site witnessed a state of panic among the workers, as the building was completely evacuated by administrative security, while a number of employees were detained inside the rooms, due to the escalation of flames and thick smoke, and some of them were forced to try to jump from the windows to escape the fire.

According to technical sources at Telecom Egypt, the fire caused important circles inside the Central, most notably: Short Line circuits (Short Line) SIP circuits for sound and data

The accident also stopped the ground Internet services in many areas, and the call services are partially stopped with mobile networks, Vodafone, Orange, Etisalat, Wi -Web, and the servers and telecommunications services for major companies based on the central.

The Civil Protection Forces continue their efforts to reach the source of the fire inside the upper roles, amid difficulties in breathing and vision due to the density of fumes.

An expanded investigation was also opened to find out the causes of the fire and evaluate the damages resulting from it, while the relevant agencies confirmed that human losses were not recorded until the moment.

Telecom companies called on institutions and their customers to review their technical systems and servers, and to ensure the state of services, especially for those who depend on a direct link to the services of Central Ramses.
