The returnees were received by the Executive Director of the triangle locality, Shawky Salah, the leaders of the Sudanese army, the leaders of the joint force and some notables of the triangle.

In January 2024, the statements of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees showed the increase in the number of Sudanese refugees who have reached Libya since the outbreak of the civil war in Sudan to at least 100,000 and 200 refugees, the majority of whom are concentrated in the city of Kfara in the south.

The Commission stated, in the latest evaluation published on Sunday, that 100 thousand and 200 Sudanese refugees have arrived in Libya since April 2023, including 48,751 refugees registered with the Refugee Commission.

Local authorities estimate that 65,000 Sudanese refugees arrived in the southern city of Al -Kfarra, with between 300 – 400 Sudanese refugees per day to the city, which puts more burdens on the basic services in the city and exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in it.
