New generous support from Saudi Arabia to Sudan

Destruction of health facilities in Sudan

The director of the World Health Organization office in Sudan, Dr. Cuban Sahab, the conflict in the country had a great impact on the deterioration of the health sector, as the drug supply chain was damaged and health facilities were severely damaged, which left thousands of Sudanese patients with chronic diseases in a major health risk, led by patients with kidney failure.

Five million dollars from Saudi Arabia to Sudan

He pointed out during a speech at the delivery ceremony at the headquarters of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s Embassy in Port Sudan, that thanks to the financial support from the King Salman Center for Relief and Humanitarian Action, which amounted to 5 million dollars, the organization was able to buy vital equipment and supplies to ensure the continuity of dialysis services, Sudan, which serves about 6000 patients, each of whom needs at least a week of laundry per week.

Sahbani expressed his gratitude to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its continuous efforts in helping the Sudanese people in their current ordeal, and continued, we are shattered in continuing this support that is very important, which ensures the continuity of health services for life in Sudan.

For his part, Dr. Esmat Mustafa, the representative of the Sudanese Ministry of Health, with continuous support from the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, stressing that this aid contributes to enhancing the stability of the health system and saving lives, especially in light of the difficult circumstances the country is going through. He also valued the role of the King Salman Center in providing medical supplies and treatment caravans, noting that the support distribution plan targets the most needy centers, and he added Saudi support contributed to preventing the Sudanese health system from collapsing.

For his part, the Saudi Ambassador Ali bin Hassan Jaafar expressed his happiness at the inauguration of urgent medical supplies in cooperation with the World Health Organization in full coordination with the Federal Ministry of Health in Sudan, noting that the initiative comes within the framework of the continuous support provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to the Sudanese people based on the directives of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and the Crown Prince, Prince Muhammad bin Salman, may God protect them.

Return of brotherhood links between Sudan and Saudi Arabia

He explained that the supplies come to confirm the ties of the brothers between the two peoples, indicating that they came at a critical time in which Sudan faces difficult and humanitarian challenges, and he continued, saying that in the Kingdom we believe in the importance of active partnership, and it is good for us to pay tribute to the great role that the World Health Organization plays in carrying out this humanitarian task and field coordination with the Sudanese Ministry of Health to ensure support to its beneficiaries with the utmost speed and effectiveness.
