Closing a border crossing between Sudan and a neighboring country due to security tension

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- The SPLA forces in southern Sudan closed the “Al-Raqeeb” border crossing with the province of East Darfur, after an armed looting. It killed two citizens of South Sudan and another from Sudan.

The sergeant crossing is the only outlet for Darfur to South Sudan, through which goods and commodities come from the south and vice versa, as it is used to introduce weapons and assets to rapid support from the UAE across South Sudan, and the border “border” area is located approximately 240 km south of the city of Al -Dahin, East Darfur.

Witnesses said, according to Darfur 24, that unknown gunmen opened fire on four individuals who were traveling in motorcycles on their way to southern Sudan, and indicated that the accident killed three people and wounded the fourth.

Witnesses stated that the People’s Army forces deployed hundreds of fighters at the entrance to the Great side from the southern side and completely prevented the movement.

The closure of the crossing caused security tensions in the region, and the daily movement stopped, which led to the accumulation of hundreds of trucks and citizens who are fleeing to the state of South Sudan, along with patients heading to receive treatment in Juba Hospitals.

The sergeant crossing is human importance for thousands of Sudanese fleeing from the hell of fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces, towards the state of southern Sudan.
