The Ethiopian Prime Minister surprises Egypt and Sudan with a declaration on the Renaissance Dam

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Ethiopian Prime Minister Abi Ahmed announced the completion of the construction work of the Renaissance Dam and preparations for its official opening ceremony next September.

Abe Ahmed, during statements in a session of the Ethiopian Parliament, confirmed his country’s readiness to make the official inauguration of the project at the end of the current fall season, “September”, calling Egypt and Sudan to participate in the opening ceremony.

He stressed that Ethiopia does not seek to inflict any harm to the countries of the estuary, led by Egypt, adding: “We have no intention to harm Egypt or Sudan.”

The Ethiopian Prime Minister indicated that his country is open to constructive dialogue to address any fears related to the dam, saying: “We are ready to cooperate with Egypt at any time, if there are possible concerns or harm, it can be addressed through cooperation and negotiation.”

He pointed out that the Renaissance Dam represents an opportunity to enhance the integration between the peoples of the Nile Valley, and not a reason for conflict or division

Stressing that the growth that Ethiopia seeks through the project will not be at the expense of the interests of the Mawsat state.

Abi Ahmed reiterated his call to Egypt and Sudan to participate in the opening ceremony of the largest electroma Dam in the African continent, considering the event a regional station for cooperation, not for the dispute.
