One of the merchants and citizens in Al -Qallawas told Radio Dabanga that an Ethiopian armed force is believed to be affiliated with the “Al -Fano” militia, crossing the border yesterday and stormed the cow market in Al -Qalbat, as it looted money and mobile phones, and remained in the region for a long time before they withdrew returning to Ethiopia.

The “Vano” militias belong to the Ethiopian Amha Nationalism, oppose the federal government and the region’s government, and are active in armed confrontations with the federal police.

On the other hand, several sources revealed that groups of Ethiopian militias arrived in the Al -Fashaq region in the governorate of Gedaref, after an absence that has lasted for years since the outbreak of the war between the Tigray region and the central government in Ethiopia.

Mubarak Al -Nour, a former parliamentarian and Secretary -General of East Sudan Coordination, told Radio Dabanga that the apartment farmers were surprised by the emergence of Ethiopian armed men in the region, guarding Ethiopian farmers preparing to grow land. He added that the presence of these gunmen will lead to insecurity in the recovered areas, and prevent Sudanese farmers from being able to cultivate their lands in the bond.

He referred to previous demands by farmers to the authorities that include the development of the region, the establishment of villages on the border strip, and the ownership of agricultural lands for the residents of those areas instead of owning people in Khartoum. The authorities also demanded the provision of protection for the intercessor and its farmers, and the establishment of bridges, especially in light of the stopping of “hodies” (ferries) due to the decline in the water level and the citizens ’resort to riding the launches that cannot transport vehicles. The Council of Sovereignty and the Council of Ministers called for an urgent interest in the lands of the bond, confirming that farmers’ adherence to it.

On the area of ​​the lands that the Ethiopian militia returned to, he said that they have not been able to limit them yet, and described the security situation as “dangerous”.

The Ethiopian militias continued to control large areas of the lands of the foster, as they set up settlements and seized agricultural lands, but they retreated after the outbreak of the internal war in Ethiopia.

Observers believe that the return of these militias to the hardship comes within the attempts of Ethiopian farmers to regain control of agricultural lands. Analysts believe that the presence of these militias is linked to tensions between Ethiopia and Eritrea, as well as the differences between the central government in Ethiopia and the Tigray border region.
