According to an American official who spoke to the newspaper, Mansour bin Zayed escapes from the direct answer, saying that “the responsibility for bringing peace falls on his enemies.”

She also quoted the former African Century envoy (2021-2022), Jeffrey Feltman, as saying to the newspaper as saying: “We always realized that those behind the scenes in the Sudanese file are Mansour.”

The newspaper said that Mansour bin Zayed played over the past years an unannounced role in supporting Abu Dhabi’s foreign policies in the conflict areas, while he was moving away from the public lights and enhancing his international image by investing in sports, especially after it turned to the owner of one of the most famous football clubs in the world.

Mansour bin Zayed, the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Leader of Rapid Support, refrained from responding to the newspaper’s inquiries, and despite the official UAE denied any military support to the parties to the conflict in Sudan, the report indicates that the United States was constantly monitoring direct contacts between Hamidati and Emirati officials, including Mansour bin Zayed himself.
