Follow-up- Ammar Awad- Eritrea accused its neighbor, Ethiopia of exploiting diplomatic communications “to justify and ignite the conflict”, and the Eritrean Ministry of Information said in a statement that Ethiopia sent messages to the Secretary-General of the United Nations and “a number of heads of state and governments”, claiming “frequent provocations” and violations of its sovereignty.

Eritrea described these efforts as a “open trick” aimed at “deceiving the international community” in pursuit of what it described as “a long -term war agend.”

The statement accused the ruling prosperity party of engaging in “unjustified statements” and “provocative military threats” over the past two years.

He pointed to attempts to seize Eritrean ports “legally if possible, and military if necessary.”

Eritrea said that these efforts were accompanied by a “weapons buying campaign” and “countless vandalism”, but she claimed that she responded with “the utmost restraint” despite the “serious threats” of its sovereignty and regional stability.

This accusation came in the aftermath of the circulation of an unintended document, which is claimed to be issued by the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, which has spread widely on social media.

The letter, dated June 20, accuses the “Eritrean system” of “frequent provocations”, “the occupation of lands” and “support for various armed groups”. She added that Eritrea’s actions “are a flagrant violation of international law” and “the fragile peace” state of peace in the Horn of Africa. The message calls on the international community to pressure Eritrea to “stop and stop using its agents”, while emphasizing that Ethiopia is still committed to “dialogue and peaceful communication”. The Addis Standard newspaper could not independently verify the document.
