9 people were killed and injured in an attack on the worshipers in the mosque in Nyala

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Three people were killed and six others were wounded in an armed attack carried out by unknown persons after the evening prayer in Al-Thawra neighborhood, west of Nyala, South Darfur.

Medical sources said, according to Darfur 24, that the perpetrators arrested the victims and demanded that they hand over their money and phones, after they left the mosque.

They pointed out that the victims refused to hand over their money and phones, which called on the armed perpetrators to throw a “horns” manual bomb before fleeing the scene of the incident.

A relative of the victims, Ahmed Mohamed, said that the attackers were traveling in a motorcycle, and carried out the attack at the gate of the mosque after they failed to extract what was in the possession of the worshipers.

A medical source at Nyala Teaching Hospital confirmed that they had received three bodies and six injured, noting that some cases are critical and need urgent surgical intervention.

In turn, the eyewitness, Wijdan Ibrahim Ahmed, said that the gunmen carried out previous looting in the “Khartoum Balil” neighborhood, west of the Al -Thawra neighborhood, before their attack on the worshipers.

A source in the North Nyala Police, who asked not to be named, revealed to “Darfur 24” that three patrols were sent to the accident site under the direct supervision of the state police chief, Lt. Col. Khaled Mohamed Nour, and began pursuing the perpetrators.

It reported that the police received repeated reports this week about three gunmen riding a motorcycle, carrying out looting and attacks in various neighborhoods of Nyala North.
