He noted that the meeting also explored the important role of South Africa in participating with both the African Union and Security Council and the United Nations Security Council, in addition to its capabilities in mobilizing joint efforts to end the war.
He stressed the discussion of participation with the various Arab and African initiatives, the neighboring countries and the international community to address the humanitarian catastrophe and stop the destruction of Sudan and preserve its unity – stressing the need not to forget the tragedy facing nearly 15 million Sudanese and refugees.
He added, “The meeting highlighted the established and rooted relationship between the democratic movement in Sudan and South Africa, it was emphasized that the war in Sudan aims to dismantle the December revolution and block the way for a civil democratic transition.
Arman pointed out that President Cyril Ramafuza was clear, familiar and very sympathetic to the tragedy of Sudan, which spoke intelligently, transparent and honest, and said that South Africa is deeply saddened by the destruction of Sudan – its people, its institutions and infrastructure.
He stressed that there is something missing in the South African mission if the issue of Sudan is not addressed, he said that Sudan occupies an irreversible place in the hearts of the people of South Africa.
He pointed to Sudan’s support for South Africa during the struggle against the apartheid, including Nelson Mandela’s visit to Sudan in the 1960s and granting a Sudanese passport to Mandela. He expressed South Africa to fulfill its duty to help end the war in Sudan. He said that the pursuit of peace is part of the DNA of the African National Congress and the mission of the people of South Africa.
President Ramafuza emphasized that they are in contact with the warring parties and they will be involved with the Sudanese, regional and international authorities to emphasize the urgent need to stop the war in Sudan. He also highlighted that South Africa is still in a deep investment in the peace process in South Sudan.
He stressed that the efforts made to end the war in Sudan must go alongside a strategy to fill resources for reconstruction and reconstruction.
