Hunger eliminates 1,200 people in 8 states

An official in a European working group on humanitarian work revealed that the continuous fighting in Kordofan and Darfur has led to the death of more than 1,200 people in recent months.

The Western official, according to Sudan Tribune, considered that the hunger crisis in the disturbed two regions is one of the worst humanitarian crises after the intensification of the battles between the Sudanese army and the rapid support forces.

He believed that these intense confrontations put the two regions at the mercy of serious repercussions, foremost of which is the death, in addition to the lack of food delivery and its provision.

However, the confrontations are believed to have placed one of the largest camps in Darfur, Zamzam camp, in front of death – as he put it, stressing that millions of Sudanese are currently considered in the fifth stage of famine.

The Western official affirmed that Sudan suffers from problems related to the war, beginning with the prevention and difficulty of delivering humanitarian aid due to security and political obstacles, lack of financing, the deterioration of the health situation, serious indicators and the spread of epidemics.
