📝 Details:

Follow-up- Mohamed Saeed Halfawi- Prime Minister Kamel Idris began consultations in a limited scope to choose members of the new government in order to announce it after the blessed Eid Al-Adha.

The government of Kamel Idris is formed from 24 ministerial portfolios in the maximum, amid competition from armed movements and political organizations allied with the armed forces during the war against the Rapid Support Forces, according to the source.

A source close to the decision -making departments told “Ultra Sudan” that the prime minister’s mission includes reassessing and appointing government officials and government agencies in addition to ministerial portfolios.

He added: “Kamel Idris will also be an official for appointing university directors and the participant of the Minister of Higher Education who will come to succeed the current minister, and the prime minister’s task also includes an evaluation and review of the performance of government economic and financial institutions such as the Social Security Fund of the Ministry of Social Development.”

Security, economic and service files are awaiting Prime Minister Kamel Idris during this period, according to the statements of political observers with the need for nearly 30 million people for urgent aid and the scarcity of international humanitarian financing.

Political analyst Ahmed Mukhtar believes in an interview with “Ultra Sudan” that the Prime Minister will not face a problem in choosing ministerial portfolios, because there are prior agreements such as the Juba Agreement whose representatives participate in the ministries of finance and minerals, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs was appointed in conjunction with the Prime Minister’s appointment ceremony on May 19, 2025.

Political analyst Ahmed Mukhtar believes that granting the Prime Minister the powers to review companies, economic and even service bodies such as the Humanitarian Aid Commission, and if he can direct these institutions in favor of serving citizens, he will present something new that was not familiar during the previous eras.

She continued: “Former Prime Minister Abdullah Hamdouk was unable to harness these economic and service institutions for the benefit of citizens because they resisted internal reforms and reviews, and if Idris succeeds in this task he will provide the public treasury hundreds of millions of dollars.”

Ahmed Mukhtar believes that reforms in governmental institutions, bodies and economic companies are a top priority to preserving public resources and spending on basic services.
