The Sudanese army rejects harsh conditions from the Emirates to start the dialogue

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Several diplomats revealed that the Sudanese army refused to participate in a secret meeting with representatives of the UAE on May 12, due to a majority of demands submitted by Abu Dhabi before the meeting and considered by the Sudanese Armed Forces to be exaggerated.

According to the Intelligence “Africa Intelligence” website, among the conditions of the dialogue, the UAE first and foremost wanted to obtain a confirmation of the withdrawal of Islamists from the proof government. Moreover, the UAE linked the resumption of its relations with the Sudanese Sovereign Council to revive the major Emirati commercial projects announced before the war.

These projects included an investment of $ 6 billion to build a port and a commercial area in Abu Amama, in addition to investments in lands in two areas currently located under the control of the Sudanese Armed Forces in the fertile Fashaq area on the border with Ethiopia, and the government in Port Sudan considered these demands unrealistic.
