Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Political Secretary of the Justice and Equality Movement Mutasim Ahmed Saleh said that the decision to fully dissolve the government by the Prime Minister, including the peace ministers, is contrary to the Juba Agreement of Sudan’s peace, and exceeds the internationally agreed guarantees.
He noted that the government’s solution not only affects the balance of power that the agreement established, but also threatens the credibility of the obligations towards the parties to peace, and weakens confidence in the path of political transition, which may affect the cohesion of the internal front in light of a very complex circumstance.
Mutasim affirmed that Article 8.3 of the Juba Agreement for the Peace of Sudan constitutes a legal and political guarantee for the stability of the parties to the peaceful process parties within the institutions of government until the end of the transitional period.
He added, “The article establishes the principle of tripartite partnership during the transitional period (the military component, the parties to peace, the forces of freedom and change), which has now become a” bilateral partnership “after one of its parties left … Ignoring this arrangement” weakens the existing obligations, and undermines the basis on which this partnership was based. “
