Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Air observatories, Al-Mundhir Ahmed Al-Hajj, revealed that 7 light and impressive earthquakes were revealed, which included Hurghada, Giza, Matrouh and South Sinai.

The head of the al -Zalal department at the National Institute for Astronomical Research and Geophysics, Sharif Al -Hadi, revealed the fact that it was circulated about an earthquake felt by many people in Giza Governorate.

Al -Hadi said in a special statement to “Telegraph Egypt”, that the earthquake that occurred in Giza Governorate today was 2.3 Richter, not strong or influential.

The National earthquake network, which is affiliated with the National Institute for Astronomical and Geophysical Research, registered a earthquake felt by a number of residents of Giza and Cairo, late on Sunday evening, about two hours after a previous earthquake was recorded northwest of Hurghada.

Social media pioneers traded leaflets confirming their feelings of earthquake in multiple areas of Giza, especially at approximately 11:20 pm, where some of them indicated that the earthquake was “strong and remarkable”, while no official statements were issued yet regarding the details of the tremor in terms of strength, depth and exact location.

Hurghada earthquake

The institute had announced earlier today the registration of a 3.3 -degree earthquake on the Richter scale, which occurred northwest of Hurghada, and was not widely perceived, due to its center from the populated areas.

The National Institute for Astronomical Research is conducting the accurate follow -up of the seismic movement in Egypt, stressing that light and medium earthquakes are recorded on a daily basis, and that the issuance of official data depends on the strength of the earthquake and its proximity to residential communities, to ensure that anxiety is not justified.
