Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Dr. Kamel Idris, the Sudanese Prime Minister, will arrive in Port Sudan, the temporary administrative capital, next Sunday, where the department is scheduled to be officially performed as Prime Minister, announcing the beginning of a new era in the leadership of the Sudanese government.

This appointment comes after a period of political disruption and tensions that Sudan witnessed after the coup of October 25, 2021 and the April 15, 2023 war, in a move by many people attempt to restore political stability amid great challenges facing the country. The arrival of Idris opens a new page in the political scene, especially after the sudden apology to the Sudan ambassador to Saudi Arabia, God, who was charged with the tasks of the prime minister.

Idris is expected to arrive in Port Sudan from Britain through Cairo, where he will stay for a transit hours before completing his journey to the temporary administrative capital to officially receive his duties. This step is accompanied by strict security arrangements in Port Sudan, in preparation for receiving the new Prime Minister.

Kamel Al -Tayeb Idris is a character with a distinguished international record. He also nominated the presidency of the Republic in 2010 in the face of the isolated President Omar al -Bashir, and he is thus one of the most prominent Sudanese competencies that work to rebuild state institutions.

The team was the first corner of Abdel -Fattah al -Burhan, Chairman of the Sovereignty Council, had issued a constitutional decree on May 19, to appoint Kamel Idris as Prime Minister, after an apology that God has pushed for the position. The appointment decision came in light of a constitutional amendment that gave the Sovereign Council the authority to appoint and exempt the Prime Minister in consultation with the transitional legislative authority.

Observers note that the step of appointing Idris represents an attempt to rearrange the political scene in Sudan, after a period of turmoil and divisions between civilians and military personnel, in light of the internal and regional economic and security challenges.

The Sovereign Council had announced the abolition of its members ’supervision of ministries and government units, in an indication of the restructuring of the executive authorities, while the constitutional amendment extended the transitional period to 39 months starting from February 23, 2025, in the event that there is no national consensus or new elections.

Amid this climate, many suspended hopes for the leadership of Idris in achieving political and economic stability, and returning Sudan to a regular democratic path, despite the size of the challenges awaiting the new government in the next stage.
