Mubarak Al -Fadil reveals the most dangerous amendments in the constitutional document

Follow-up- Al-Zawiya Net- Mubarak Al-Fadil Al-Mahdi, head of the Umma Party, said that the amendments and additions made by the team Al-Burhan and his military colleagues in the Sovereign Council to the constitutional document in February 2025 changed the nature of the Sovereign Council, which is controlled by the military from the Council of a symbolic authority to a presidential council of executive inventory of the Council of Ministers from its powers and turned it into an arm of the Sovereign Council.

He noted that these amendments transformed the current system of government into a presidential system with wide legislative and executive powers, and added, “So, in light of this reality, the Prime Minister turns into a first minister working to implement public policies in coordination with the Sovereign Council according to the text of the new constitutional document.”

Al -Mahdi indicated that the authority of the Council of Ministers has been withdrawn to appoint the states of the states and the Sovereign Council is the one who appoints the rulers.

Al -Fadil pointed out that the Council of Ministers is participating in the Sovereignty Council in the transitional legislative authority that possesses the validity of legislation and control over the performance of the executive, and that the foreign policy has become the responsibility of the Sovereign Council according to the new constitutional document while foreign policy was one of the most important powers and government of the Prime Minister.

He said that the responsibility of security and defense and the authority of the appointment of the Director of Police and Prisons and all the security services withdrew from the cabinet and became the powers of the Sovereign Council and its president.

He continued, “The number of military members in the Sovereign Council has been increased from 4 members to 6 members out of a total of 11 members of the Sovereign Council, so they had a majority of membership of the council and thus controlling this decisions in addition to their control over the rest of the members.

Al -Fadil pointed out that the new Dustour Document prohibited the assumption of foreign nationalities for ministerial positions, and this may mean the unconstitutionality of appointing the new Prime Minister who lived in Switzerland nearly 40 years.
